The woods are lovely dark and deep but I have promises to keep; Miles to go before I sleep and Miles to go before I sleep…" These words by poet Robert Frost beautifully captured the forward-looking spirit of the Indian School of Business (ISB) as renowned sand artist, Kanth Risa’s hands weaved the School’s ten-year journey on a sand canvas in perfect sync with the narration provided by Nishi Ratnam, student from the Class of 2012. The audience watched mesmerised as Risa went about first scattering, then brushing the sand away with his fingers to bring alive images integral to ISB’s story.

The occasion was the Indian School of Business’ (ISB) tenth anniversary celebrations in Hyderabad, which culminated the year-long celebratory events in different cities across the world.

The ISB community was also enthralled to witness the maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia perform the flute, with accompanying flautist Shri K S Rajesh, Pandit Bhavanishankar on the pakhaawaj and Pandit Subhankar Banerjee who played the tabla.

On this occasion, a book on ISB’s journey “An Idea Whose Time has Come – The Story of the Indian School of Business,” written by Founding Dean Pramath Sinha, was launched by Adi Godrej, Chairman of ISB’s Executive Board and current ISB Dean Ajit Rangnekar.

The celebrations coincided with “Solstice,” the annual reunion event that the School organises to reconnect with its alumni. The theme for this year’s Solstice, “Celebrating Every ‘I’ at ISB” was an apt salutation to all the students, faculty, staff and alumni who have led ISB to this celebratory juncture at ten years.
